The past couple of weeks I notice that i'm getting these brown/redish circles on my lawn, more on the red side. and it's starting to spread like wild fire ( well, not that fast ).

What could it be?

The past couple of weeks we have gotten a really good amount of rain. Could that do it?

Stonehenge is on a distinguished road
Does it come off on your shoes when you walk through that part of the lawn?

Fungus Called "Red Thread"

Not considered one of the bad fungus problems a lawn can have.

Brought on by low nitrogen
Cool Temps 40 - 70 degrees
More than 10 hours of wetness for days

Apply fertilizer......it will grow out if the weather ever warms up and stops raining. Use a higher Nitrogen....but slow release, such as a sulfer coated or poly coated. Fert that contains Iron of 2 or 3% would be helpfull as well

Should conditions of low temps and continued wetness persist....then an application of fungicide will be necessary

That is just more than 2 weeks ago. You should be fine....This weather is not going to stay like this much longer.

I have some thread on our lawns......We are in process of fert applications this week.

Would it be possible you could take a decent digital photo so we can see how severe or not your problem is?

2 weeks after the fert and your lawn is not evenly green....With all the rain these past 3 weeks.......You could possibly have your fert run through already

I am not familiar with the NPK of Scotts Step 2.....

This years weather is keeping all lawns on the yellowish side.....Far to many cloudy days.

I wouldn't worry to much........Red thread will not.....I repeat will not.....wipe out your lawn......It realy is a temporary kind of thing.

When you cut.........collect the clippings.

In a week or two......you may want to try a light fert application using something similar to what I described above.

Lets see what it looks like a week from now....OK?
