TrickyDick is an unknown quantity at this point
Don't know why Landarts thinks it nasty but I have found that blood and bone meal can get the dogs digging looking for treats.

We stopped using organic fertilizers in the planting hole when planting perennials and small shrubs, because critters, usually racoons, would come and dig up the plants...I guess the fish meal in the organics attracts them.

There has been some concern that blood and bone meal could carry disease. I don't think there's much to that but I avoid the animal products since the soybean and cottonseed meal-based products work so well.
