arrow Hedge Trimmer - Commercial Use

Hey guys...would an Echo Hedge Trimmer do ok for commercial use or do I need some special heavy duty gearbox like the guy at the store is trying to sell me for 400 bucks?

What trimmer would y'all recommend? Should I get a long one or a short one?

thanks!!
ash

Depends how much you will use it and blade size and engine power.

I don't do much trimming and have an Echo HC150 and it has been fine with 4-5 hours between cleanings.

Spend $250 now and $400 later or just buy the right one the first time.

4seasons is on a distinguished road
I use an echo for trimming. never had to do anything to itand ive had it for 5 yrs.
I think if you have to trim alot of tall shrubs you might want a longer hedgetrimmer.
that way you dont have to use a stepladder.
I have a husky that is the medium length.

The best gas powered hedge clipper........you want to know the BEST commercial gas powered hedge clipper?

The BEST DAMN gas powered hedge clipper is the TMC

BAR NONE THE BEST MACHINE out there

Blade speed.........awesomely fast......fastest blade speed than all the others. SUPERIOR balance.........and the only machine you grab the handles on both side at the back and stretch out.

Back in the day I had 15 fully operational machines.

Our areas distributor realy screwed us and himself by his own stupidity........he got lazy and drove the prices up to where local shops stopped buying.

I even called USA main office in California a couple times trying to get parts.......even asked them for contact information of a shop that they knew would be fully stocked and so on.........so that I could get parts.........they refused even that information.

So now I have 11 machines sitting on a shelf......an extremely low stock of carb parts, maybe 2 or 3 needles.......I have been saying for years I would canibalize the machines and run them to the ground........just haven't done that yet.

So for.......I dunno 10 years?......been using the Red Max......decent machine......needs less attention and the blade steel is harder and holds an edge longer........I have 4 of them and have been changing blades every other year.

I have a Stihl HS 80 with a 36" bar. It is a great machine but I probably dont use it as much as somebody who owns 10 or 11. No complaints and its 4 years old.

I use a dremmel to sharpen blades (after the coffee has worn off) and im nice and calm. Its really hard to sharpen all thoes sides!@$%^$^*&
Its also good to have one for runnin in the dirt so you dont put the new one in the dirt for the skirt of the hedge.
Ps hedge trimming sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im out of it now thank god!
