Only contracts of that nature that has come accross my desk was for doing maintenance at an Airport.

And I have had Town and County specs as well.....

We have never bid on these jobs.

Why?

I'll tell ya.........

The Spec sheets are far to many for me to consider reading them.....The one I got for the airport was over 100 pages. The requirements necessary just to be considered were all way out of line and out the norm for my business..........And I had to be able to put $ into an escroll account...before even doing any work .LOL.......

Now if putting up my own money isn't enough...........how's about waiting min 90 days to be paid? OH, oh wait................that was 90 days when the invoice would be processed.........didn't mean I would get paid in 90.......more likely in excess of 100 days.....And billing was every other month.

Town and County contracts though much less paper work and far less restrictive regarding business requirements.....Was still for me to much hassle to bother bidding on projects....

Although.........I know of a couple companies around me that their entire business is municipal contracts.

All depends on what you want........there is no more prestige doing municipal work vs. just plain commercial / residential
