In some recent threads I've realized that some contractors use the small utility vehicles for some jobs. what kinds do you run and if so what attacments. I also wanted to post a picture of Kubota's newest machine. it's their first ever utility vehicle. It's the RTV900. Check it out!!! http://www.kubota.com

We use a Max 6 wheel drive ATV and a trailer when we need it. Goes 90MPH, turns like a skid steer, tires only 4psi so no turf damage, and we can drive it right down the launching ramp of the bay and drive across at 12MPH, then drive right back out and go home....

Yeah i was just wondering. There seems to be a very sudden large market for them. Companys are releasing new utility vehicles left and right. Bobcat has two or three. Kubota now has one. John Deere has a few. There are alot to chose from out there. I guess with a reasonable price and a variety of applications it's no wonder why there are so many out there.

It's just like anythign else, Will...If you can cut time off your jobs, then it makes sense to buy them. I would not have gotten ours except the guy at our tool repair shop had a killer deal on it...

Another thing the new Bobcat one has a lift arm in the front for buckets forks auger etc. That would be a real nice tool. The Toolcat 5600 starts at $32,000 without a single attachment

Nope, that was 90...I am seriously toying with the idea of installing an Arctic Cat Thunder Cat engine then lord only knows how fast it will go!

Bill, what motor does that Max atv have in it? My brother-in-law had one and if you could reach 40mph it would be a miracle. With the only suspension being the tires, it would probably toss you right off at that speed. On water it wouldn't do more than 5mph.

HR:
We are running a 75HP three cylinder Rockwell JLO. The new machines are running Briggs Vangaurd engines, they won't even put 2 strokes in them anymore. We are just going to run the dessert, and play in the water with it, but seriously, this thing is a little work horse when you need it. It can pull trailers, drag ground scarifiers, seeders, etc...The majority of what we get on is so small you cannot get much back to use this, and I picked up cheap and always wanted one, so, I got it.. More of a toy than a work vehicle...

I remember someone telling me they had an old one with a 2 stroke but I didn't know it was that fast. The one my brother-in-law bought had the briggs 16 hp twin. Slow but alot of fun.

That is why they stopped making the two strokers.. Someone got killed and it turned ugly...At one point, there were 33 manufacturers of 6 wheeled ATV's on the market. The town I grew up in had a plant and always wanted one... It is pretty amazing at where this thing will go and what it will do...Hmmm, i wonder what a larger version would do with full traveling suspension and a 502cu in Chevy crate motor....

Ry:
The 502 is now too small. Chevy just released a 578 and 606 cubic inch high deck version of the Rat...So, it would have to be the 606...Size definitely matters!
