excl "Bark Blowers and Mulch Spreaders"

Have any of you seen or heard of those mulch spreading trailers called Bark Blowers. I was on the Finn Corp website not too long ago and noticed a few. What you do is load the hopper on the trailer with mulch. Then drive to the jobsite undo the hose and turn the thing on. Mulch will travel through the hose as someone sprays the mulch in beds or wherever mulch is needed. It seems to save time, labor and should only take 1 or 2 workers to use and apply mulch. If you have one or know anything about one please reply. Thanks

P.S. As they say time is money.

The only ones I'm familiar with are the large truck mulch blowers. Last time I was at the MidAm trade show I got some info from a mfg. To give you an idea of costs, they said that if I was interested in buying one, they'd fly me out to Washington (or Oregon, somewhere in the Northwest) to look one over and see one in action. I believe the sticker price is somewhere around $100-150K.

When my wife and I were vacationing in Florida this winter I saw several of these on the road. Must be a pretty good biz. If I have the time to launch another venture in the next decade or so, this might be it - we could be the mulch sub for many local landscapers.

Seemed fast, easy and efficient.

The truck mounted ones are very expensive. These are only mounted on two-axle trailers and can hold up to about 10 yards of mulch. These too are expensive. But very cost effective.

I subbed out a job to a company with a large truck mounted unit.
1 guy blew in 20 yards of shredded cedar mulch into a rose garden in less than an hour. Didn't cost much more than I would have paid for just the mulch and it saved us a ton of work!

You need to spread a lot of mulch to pay for even a small one. They do work nice, but the one I've seen in action seemed to have trouble with clogging.
