cheap breaker

has anybody used one of these chicago electric hammers?http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=46935
Its a knockoff of the bosch one i usually rent and at $359 its $1000 less than the bosch
my concern is the start up amps are 22.9 no load 13amps the bosch is 15 amps (not sure if thats start up or running). I flip circuit breakers with the bosch sometimes so i'm wondering if the cheapo one is going to be useable at customers houses.heres a link to the bosch http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=228013
thanks steve

I would think the problem you have with the Bosch unit would be the same with the Chicago unit.

22.9 amps would blow just about any home circuit. Most are 20 amps.

Perhaps if you had a generator?

How long is your extention cord and what guage? You need a fatty cord to run that. If yor blowing 20 amp breakers look for a 50 amp circut in the panel.

It works fine. I haven't used the bosch ina few years, but I think it may have had a tad more blows per minute, but for the $1K savings it's just fine. I just plug in an 8 gauge cord if over 50' away. Never tripped a breaker doing it that way.

I purchased the $359 unit last year and have used it on several jobs , some that I had it working for almost 2 hours straight and no problems and I know that it was only on a 15 or 20 amp circuit , it is worth the money and I charge to cover the cost if I ever have to replace it .....I hate to rent equipment!
