Fastrap

I came across a product that I'm very impressed with and wanted to share with everyone. I recently purchased a new box trailer for my mowing operation and wanted a quick and secure way to tie my machines down. Some may not be aware this is required by DOT and they've been pretty tough on us in my area.

I came across "Fastrap" , a nylon webbing strap that slides over the tires and cinches them in place. There are 2 stops that screw to the floor, these spot the tires and secure the webbing. Once the webs are placed correctly in the stops and the snap clamp, there's no need to undo them again which speeds securing and release.

To secure your machine, you just drive into the stops, slide the webbing over the tire, pull it snug and flop the snap clamp over to tighten the webbing. It takes less than 20 seconds to do both sides of the machine! Reverse the procedure to release the machine, takes the same amount of time.

I bought mine from Sportsman's Guide, they had the best price I could find on them. You need two per machine. This sytem is very economical and very effective!

I'm wondering how this system compares to Pro-Lockers?

That was the other system I was looking at. For my operation these Fastraps work better because I haul 3 machines in line. The front 2 machines just run over the rearward stops until they reach their position in the trailer, there's no need to remove anything to do this. Saves time by not needing to remove and replace the tire clamps of the Pro-Locker.

The other plus to this is these straps are about $45 a pair if you shop around, where the Pro-Locker is nearly $200. I'm not knocking Pro-Locker at all, my friend has their system and is very happy with it. I was just so pleased with the way these Fastraps are working out for me I wanted to pass it on. It's not often that a tool or equipment surpasses your expectations.

We just picked up a fast strap for our hustler. We were going to pick up the pro locker but I just don't like how you have these huge locks screwed to the floor. I am giving the fast strap a try, if we don't like it we are going to the pro lockers.

Why do you need two straps? I would think one would be sufficient, our riders don't move with just the brakes on so I cant imagine one would wiggle out with a fast strap. You only use one pro locker, I don't think it would be any different...then again I have been wrong before =).

Unless you're roads are real smooth where you are, you'll see some rotation of the machine with one strap in place. I ran a week with one of my machines with one strap and that was the result. If you've got ample room on your truck or trailer for this rotation without damaging anything, then you'd be fine. I've got my trailer loaded pretty tight and can't afford the machines moving around at all. Fastrap recommends two straps per machine too.

I hear you, you def need to strap them bad boys down! I am just surprised as it seems it would have more holding power on the main wheels then the pro locker which is on a rotating wheel which I would think is easier to move.

I need to install mine in the truck and see what happens =P.

i run prolockers and you get no shift at all when they are in the lock.........the main reason i use them is because i run open trailer and open Isuzu trucks and i can place a padlock on the prolocker and secure the equipment........if you have an enclosed trailer you can get by with using the fast straps because most likely there is a lock on the trailer doors.
