Yeah, what's with that!? Around here folks buy a trailer, use it and beat on it for a couple three years, then ask (and get!) 85-90% of the price of a new one... I've actually heard of used trailers selling for MORE than a new one! Used trailers are usually in our local classifieds LESS than one day to sell!
I just bought a trailer to set up for hardscaping. I didn't want to spend the money but thought - heck - I can always sell it for as much as I paid...
You should be able to find a decent skidsteer though.

Having tracks is nice for grading and doing work in stablished turf.
If you can afford one buy it, I know it will be about 5k higher or even more vs wheels.
If you are using it constantly in black top it will wear down the tracks fairly quickly, and they are not cheap.

you lifted a full pallet of pavers as far up as the boom would go?? i had a 248 and had trouble pulling full pallets off of a single axle...
