Where does one find used values for larger trucks....specifically a 2003 Chevy Kodiak 4500.

NADA only goes up to 1 ton trucks...

Funny you ask! Today I just filed away the truck salesman's card. You know what 4 seasons, I did not get the kodiak 4500....almost bought an International 4900.

In the end I held off (we just get things delivered and hire out the larger hauling jobs) and bought a boat! I bought a 2006 Starcraft Aurora 2000 Deck boat. It's got a 220HP 5.0 V8 w/ a Volvo Penta SX, 3 fishing chairs, 24v trolling motor, on board charger, and much more. Seats 12 people which is perfect for my family of 8. All my kids and my Wife have had an incredible summer so far. Fishing, skiing, tubing, camping, swimming every weekend...It has been the most incredible quality family time investment that I could have ever dreamed of. Next purchase looks like it will be a camper trailer that sleeps at least 8.

When we do buy a larger truck it will most likely be the International.....just under CDL....I've learned that you can't over buy on the weight capacity, but you can always under buy.

Right on Neb's....

I had a boat and camper when my kids were young and we had a blast. Always going somewhere.

Sold both of them in the last 2 years, kids are all in early 20's now and friend's and all take more of their time than Ma and Pa. Typical time frame attitudes.

My daughter and SO just bought a house, and I have been working on it a lot, and probably have another month of work to do.

I have another boat in mind, metal V hull with 90-125 hp outboard for fishing use.

Also looking for another airplane....probably a Stinson, Aeronca Champ or early Cessna. Something to get me into back country fishing areas.

That's the 5 year recreation plan anyway.

Work to live not live to work.
