Need some ideas for college project...

Hey everyone, good to be back (i used to post on here under a different user name but i forgot it in the 6months i've been away). I was recently assigned a project for business class where i have to write a sales letter to convince an investor to buy a certain piece of investment equipment of my choice. I have to use the letter to convince them its a worthwhile investment. I figured i'd pick the good ol' 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup as my investment tool of choice. I already listed the basic ways to return an investment on a truck (plowing, hauling firewood, salting/sanding, hauling fill). I think its a good start, but I wanted to get some ideas from the professionals... can anyone think of some other good ideas to turn a buck from a p/u? thinking outside the box is encouraged. Thanks alot everyone, I hope to hear back from some of you.

If you are looking at this from a new business point of view, you may already have the truck. So, a really good investment may actually be a lawnmower. Maybe a Cub Cadet rider, something in the ballpark of 1500-2000.00. Show your clientel (if any) and show how long it will take before you can actually make a profit off of the mower. Ten 25-50.00 jobs x 31 weeks of mowing. That is if you are mowing from April 1- Oct. 31 like we do. 31 weeks is a guesstimate. If the jobs bring in only 25.00 each, then you will have the mower payed off in 10 weeks or less (depending on the weather, but don't mention that). Then your profits will actually start to show. Your overall profit ( not including taxes, gas, or any of that other mumbo jumbo) will be somewhere in the ballpark of 5k. Now he should smile. You always want to show your investor the greener side of the fence. If they are a true investor, they will no that nothing is a sure win.
Hope this helped

Buy the right pickup for a low price... invest a bit of money cleaning it up, making it better looking or able to work better, and sell it for 25% profit at least.

Take the money and do it again. Then again.

Less at risk, better profit in shorter time and better use of your dollars.

I remember taking a course like that back in school.

I had to give a presentation to convince inverstors to give me money to start my landscaping business. It was an awkward sweaty palmed five minute presentation with a bunch of people looking up at me like I had two heads.

The presentation ends, a hand darts up to ask a question,

"What are you going to do in the winter?"

Depends on your state regulations. I have 30 days to transfer a title in Oregon, or I have to pay an extra $ 50 transfer charge.

There is now in Oregon an additional form that you do not HAVE to file, a transfer of ownership. This protects you from somebody abandoning the vehicle or getting in a wreck etc, while it is still registered / titled under your name.
