2007 EPA diesel regs.

My understanding is that in 2007 new EPA regualtions will take effect that will greatly influence the price of diesel powered trucks. Estimated increases I've heard range from $5-15,000 per truck. Will this cause many of you to buy new in 2006 to avoid (temporarily) the increase? (That was my plan.) Or to simply switch to gas powered, if that's an option?
On a side note, I've almost totally switched to diesel trucks over the past few years but I admit that this year I was very frustrated to see that diesel prices have been consistantly much higher than regular gas prices. In the past, diesel was much cheaper than regular in the warmer months and then it would reverse with the onset of the winter. And that didn't bother me because I'm basically shut down in the winter. I hope the old seasonal pricing pattern returns.
