I have a job in the NJ meadow lands were I am doing a 110,000 sf warehouse renovation. Part of my contract include trimming overgrown vegetation and removing waste. The problem is that most of it is 6'-10' high weeds the area is swamp land. I have to do a 25' wide strip by 300'-400' feet long. I have access from both side one side along the parking lot the other side along train tracks. I was thinking a tracked skid steer with a brush cutter but am worried I will get stuck. So now was thinking getting a brush cutter for my PC-45 mini excavator. Here is a link to a web site I found .mini-x brush cutter
I don't know much about this kind of attachment or this type of work so any suggestions and opinions would help

Looks like it would be a lot of fun to play with, errr I mean use to make money. I am not sure how well it would stand up to that tall of brush.

Definitely would need a hi flow machine to get through 6-10' tall brush. I think you guys just received a little bit of rain? Might get stuck now, and it really depends on how bad it is, but the tracked machines will go through a lot without getting stuck.

Of course once they are stuck, it's a little bit of work to get them out usually.

Better off renting a 330 with a long stick where you can put the machine on the side line with stable ground then just reach out and whack away. Your PC-45 will have what a 13' or so reach? Not to mention the bush hog is a pretty heavy piece of equipment and it may not seem like it but you could put that dog on it's nose when you reach all the way out.

You'll have $600.00 in both pieces of equipment plus deleivery, give or take and you can put it to rest without worrying about getting stuck.

I have to my paving sub coming tommarow to look he saying he will do with his D4 when he comes to get the sub base ready for the parking lot. He is ging to plow everything over and i have my 160 there with a grapple and will just load it up intom a container.

Cutting brush may not be considerd legal, but running a bull dozer through a swamp and clearing it to bare soil may be looked upon with much more scrutiny. May have to have a soil erosion plan and a plan to re-vegetate the area when finished. Something just sounds a little bit out of line here, but then again, it is the meadowlands, so considering what is in that place to begin with, no one way really care one way or another. Just let us now if you happen to dig up hoffa's body!
