Ramps for my trucks
Hello everyone, I am starting another lawn service. I had one that I sold about ten years ago, due to my wife's job relocating, now I want back in. Anyway, I'm looking at getting a set of ramps for my truck, so I can put a 36" walk behind in it. I want to start with the small 12 foot trailer that I have, but sometimes I figure I can get away without pulling a trailer. The other day I saw a truck with a ramp that slid into the 2" receiver, It said Ultimate Ramps. Does anyone have one, or know if they're any good? They looked sturdy, not like some of aluminum ones.
Thanks for any advice, RJL.

I know this is not what you asked for, but, it is how I would go about what you want to do. You are a start up company. Money is tight, and every penny counts. Since you have a trailer, ramps are a luxury. I would get two 6' hunks of 2x12, paint them with some oil based paint, and throw sand in the paint while it is still wet. Take a 6" wide piece of 1/8" plate steel and carraige bolt it through the ramp, so it can sit on the tail gate. Total cost, $60.00 and a little time. That ramp you are talking about, $250.00. Run those until you use ramps every day, day in day out, otherwise, keep the money on your pocket.

I just bought a Grasshopper 725G2, I replaced my 721 that I kept from my old lawn serviceand and I'm looking at a scag walk behind. A couple hundred dollar ramp, that is safer than boards was kinda' what I was thinking.

I found Ultimate Ramps on the web at www.ultimateramps.com. They seem pretty sweet because, they are adjustable to fit any truck and they are a lot less $$, actually about half the $ of the other one. I want to get info for it too, but it seems like you have to get one specially for your truck.

Hey again I was just on the TailGate Ramps website again, does anyone have one of these, they seem difficult to deal with, folding and unfolding, not to mention you need two people to get them on and off, but how are they? The other one, Ultimate Ramps, says on and off in minutes, just take out a couple pins, and one person can do it. And as for unfolding them it looks a lot easier, any thoughts?
????? Just wondering what to do!!!??????

Well today I ordered a set of Ultimate Ramps. They work pretty slick, they just slide into the square receiver. No bolts or anything hard to deal with. Best of all, they aren't kidding, on and off in minutes, by one person. For $350 it looks well worth it. Now the only thing is there is about a three week wait to get one, cause he can't build them fast enough.

Where are you located? You might be able to pick up some other good equipment for low $$ if we know where you are.

I got my set of Ultimate Ramps today. They work slick! On and off in minutes, he wasn't kidding. Set it up the first time, just a couple bolts to set the height to match the bed, and now it just pins right in. They're easy to fold down, and get them back up, so simple, it's great! I love them!
