Dump Trailers
Ok, I need a little input about dump trailers. We have a 2002 UD with dump body, tool boxes, xm radio, ac and the like.....only 20,000 miles in 3 years, show room condition. It drives to the site and sits there and back. Mostly used to bring mulch and haul some debris.
We have all materials(except mulch), plants and otherwise delivered to the site...would rather be working than in the delivery/hauling business
We have looked at Bri-mar trailers (available and actually made within 100 miles of us) 10,000 & 12,000 capacity, 12 or 14' lengths, with 44" sides, ramps, tie downs, tool boxes, led lights, adjustable height hitch and barn door style rear doors. About 4- 6 weeks for delivery since we want most of the options.
Fully loaded around $8000. I have an F350, crew cab, deisel, dually long bed (rrrrrrrrr) so we can haul up to 10,000 according to Ford. We also have a 24' enclosed wells cargo we haul every day. We only need this dump trailer for mulch and debris removal.
Any trailer suggestions here on the east coast or dump trailer suggestions/experience in general. We will be selling the UD and paying cash for the trailer.....oh btw......anyone looking for a mint UD

We have all mulch delivered and hire out carting. Those
delivery fees and carting fees are payed by the client.
That seems to me, truck or trailer, to be an unneccesary
investment for mulch and some debris. Can you go that route in your area? Mulch delivered, carting company?

Not sure what you mean hdk by carting......do you mean like a roll off dumpster and/or hauling? We have used that at times also as an option depending on where the job is compared to our office or dump.
We also will be selling our flatbed trailer, which is in good shape for 12 years old. The only thing we use it for is to move our skid steer and to occasionally haul larger trees when necessary. We are trying to become as efficient as possible with the least amount of equipment.
The dump trailer we are looking at, is also capable of hauling our skid steer.....I forgot to mention that. It won't fit into our 24' wells cargo due to shelving and other fixed items in the enclosed trailer. Our enclosed trailer was built at the optional height of 6'6" so I wouldn't have to bend over...just barely fit with the soles on work shoes now a days being so thick.

Yes roll-offs where needed or the debris removal guys with
a similar, maybe older truck like yours that come in much cheaper
than a roll-off.

OK, is the xm radio for your benefit or your employees?
If you put it in the employees daily driver truck I would like to nominate your for employer of the year!

Don't know if it is in your area, but I run a H&H dump trailer, by far the best built I've seen. Very well constructed, built in Bradyville, Iowa, they have a website, look up H&H Trailer.

The xm is for the employee that drives that truck......the cd player skips....cd that is standard is not great and fm reception in the mountains is poor....so xm is for everyones enjoyment. I also have xm in my f350 and in our florist. A great deal at 12.99/month for the first one and just 6.99 for each additional up to 4 more. I pay a year in advance and get even a little more discount........6.99/month is an inexpensive way to keep everyone happy!

That does it for me. I've got Sirius in the office but it's time to put it in the international as well!

We have a Bri-Mar 14' dump that can carry the Bobcat as well. Very good trailer, very happy with it. Our dealer sold it with the regular tailgate as well as the full tailgate for loading equipment. The full tailgate was a little light for loading a T190, but after strengthening it, we are very happy with it.
It's great having another vehicle that can dump as well as carry equipment.

I bought a custom-built dump trailer last year and it's arguably the best investment I've made to date. It'll carry my Bobcat or my mowing equipment, and handles any bulk materials I need. It's got landscaper ramp-style doors that also swing open barn-door style for dumping. Like Mark, I had them reinforce the gates when they built it. They also fabbed a holder for the Bobcat forks to be carried on the side of the trailer when not in use. Got a tool rack, trimmer rack, and tie-down rings as well.

I've had a dump trailer for 20+ years. It doesn't get much use any more since a purchased a freightliner dump. Now complaint and gave us years of reliable service. At some point I will probably buy another one of a slightly different style. Flat bed, lower to the ground 10000 gvw, with stake pockets so I could change from tall sides, low sides or no sides. Have you found a trailer that big that doesn't come 5th wheel. It seems that once dump trailer get to 10 thousand they go to a 5th wheel design? You might get some ideas from the book Systems for Success. I love his dump trailer.

I have a load trail dump trailer I bought for $4,095 before tax title and plates it's 6.6 feet wide by 10 feet long body, hauls up to 7000 pounds and works great for my jobs, couldnt be happier with it I haul broken concrete , mulch, topsoil works great has the 3 way tailgate, I pull it with my 2000 dodge ram2500 van, this is my first year in buisness doing flatwork so I would like a bigger dump but I waited until I could pay cash for all my tools and equipment before going into buisness, I would recomend the Load trail brand
