HRLand is an unknown quantity at this point
problem with compactor

My reversible compactor is running normal but moving very slowly. Anybody know what could be wrong?

With out knowing what kind have you checked the exciter oil?

No I haven't but will in the morning. It's wacker bpu 2950. I did notice that somehow the handle got bent. Could this have something to do with it?

That could be the problem. If your handle is bent you could have limited the control handle range which controls motion. But check the oil first!

Along with oil, check the belt(s). With all the noise they make, if the belts are slipping and not allowing your machine to turn as necessary, it will give the same effect as though you were running barely past idle.

I'm thinking we may need to check on ours, too. Ours is a Bomag 4545, and it often seems like we need to push it to help it move.

Well I checked the oil and belt today and here is what I found. The oil in the exciter had water in it and the belt was a little loose with 2 chunks missing. I'll replace the belt tomorrow and see if that helps any. Obviously water in the oil isn't good but would it cause the plate to move slow?
