What size/type air compressor would be suitable for using an impact gun to change mower blades? Also, would a blade grinder be worth going to , versus just using my little angle grinder and a bench vise? Lastly, anyone use those gizmos that'll suck oil out of a machine instead of having to drain it from the bottom for oil changes?

Get about a 6hp, 30 gallon tank. Install a regulator and a water separator. Oil suction machines are only necessary for engines where you cannot service the drain, like an inboard boat engine. There is always a small amount of dirty oil that stays in the bottom of the crankcase with a suction hose. If the reason you are consdiering this is because of the mess, you can install a ball valve with a rubber hose to divert the drain wherever it needs to go. Much better way than suction.

That is the size compressor we have with the water unit also.

A simple 4 to 6 inch side head grinder will do fine for sharpening blades.

The blade grinders run about $ 500. A lot of money in my opinion.

Get a $100.00 Home Depot 4 1/2" angle grinder with a 40 or 60 grit flap disk on it and put the blade in a vise to sharpen. You'll never go back!
