opinion on mini-x

Has anyone here owned one of these? It's a little old but it's compact and looks like it could move some serious dirt!

Wow - the bucket looks way to large for that machine. I have been looking at an older Komatsu mid sized excavator for use on my landscape projects - what is the size of that bucket?

am I being punked - is that an optical illusion

Honestly?

First I thought, "What a heavin' piece of crap!"

Then I looked in the mirror, and realized that sometimes a beat-up exterior hides a well-oiled machine.

Anyway, how are you gonna use it HR? I don't use excavators much except for stuff I probably shouldn't even waste my time doing, but I'm told once you dig a pond with one, you'll never go back to the shovel. I could see roughing out tree holes with it too. But moving dirt, I would go with a skid-steer.

And since my mechanical skills are rudimentary, I would never feel comfortable buying a machine that looks so, shall we say, "used".

No photoshopping here. The bucket that is attached to the machine is resting on top of the large one. This thing is in the yard where I keep my trucks and equipment and it cracked me up when I saw it. Just thought I'd share a little humor.
