There are a few other design forums online-

Landscapedia.info has a forum and is run by a member of GroundTrades

Land8Lounge has a forum for landscape architecture

LandscapeJuiceNetwork has mostly European members which exposes you to an interesting perspective on design.

My website, LandscapeLeadership.com, is specifically for landscape designers, although you need to be a member to access the forum.

Some social networking sites like LinkedIn also have message boards. You could join the APLD LinkedIn group and participate in their forum.
