Hello everyone,

Are there other online professional landscape design oriented forums out there that you like and find useful?

Thanks in advance!

Ditto.
Only professional advice here, unlike the immature banter I have read on other sites.
This is by far the only site you'll want to read.

As an internet junkie, I have to say that I've found other "pro" sites, or sections of sites that are supposedly for pros. The volume of garbage there is unbelieveable. If a question is posted, it seems to be a free for all on how fast to criticize and attack. This is not the busiest forum, but by far the best.

I have been reading this site for years now, finally joined last year sometime I think, and recently have found time, (don't ask me where) to post occasionally. I can tell you that in all my online horticultural research I have never, (pause for dramatic effect,) ever found a site as reliable in professionalism and genuine knowledge as this one.

I have to ask that after having found this site, why would you want find to find any others? The grass doesn't get any greener than it is on this site.

They're out there, but don't waste your time looking for them. Compared to this site they're extremely juvenille and you really won't obtain any useful information from those sites except probably how NOT to act and conduct business.

This is the only site I have found where the members speak and conduct themselves in a responsible, mature manner and not throw the temper tantrum hissy fit when they get contradicted in a posting.

I noticed you signed up for Gold Oaks. If you can't find anything to browse in the posted threads, go to the Gold Oaks Archive and read through there instead of other forums. Lots of wonderful info in Gold Oaks and you can always confidently say you will learn something valuable everytime to go to Gold Oaks!

Besides, there's way too much archived information in the past posts that's full of valuable information and pointers that will take all your extra time to read so you don't need to worry about searching for another forum :-)

Thanks for all the replies. Y'all are bunch of loyal folks! I guess I didn't think about the fact that asking for directions to another forum is a form of online faux pas...

What I was trying to find is a forum that might be more specifically oriented towards designers but I also realize that one of the biggest assets of this particular forum is the presence (and input) of all types of professionals from the entire industry. I registered for the gold oaks because this kind of resource needs to be supported. Thanks for collectively creating it.

Alex

Alex,

they (we) are telling the truth. There really are no other sites out there that are worth the time spent reading them. This truly is the best landscape site on the net.

Ditto on what everyone else said. As far as finding a site totally dedicated to landscape design, my guess is that the internet may not be the best medium for that. Books and magazines that deal specifically with different designers and styles would probably be more fruitful. It would require a greater expense of time and money but you could focus directly on those things. And you wouldn't get distracted with a lot of distracting sidebar discussions and arguments...which, with any forum, is inevitable. (And, yes, like I'm doing now).
