Container Plants

Can anyone give me a good link on arrangements for large patio pots?

This can be trailing perennials mixed with annuals and evergreens, herbs and so forth.

Zone 7

Part shade

Something along the lines of autumn fern or some evergreen in the middle of the pots and trailing plant material around the sides with lots of color.

Some pots are clay and some antique ceramic.

We'll be doing a large container garden this week. I'll post some pics when it's done.

try the local high end garden centers. Their custom pots are always easy to copy and look great.

Here's an online article that covers the basics as far as design.

If the containers are truly 'large' you may want to include a tall, narrow or vase shaped shrub, tropical tree or other evergreen that will anchor the scale of the container on the patio.
