Visio, anyone?

Is anybody else using Visio to draw plans?
I love it, but sometimes I feel slightly inadequate for not using AutoCAD and like an outcast in the Visio community for not using it for IT stuff.
Anyhoo...just wondering if anybody else is using it and is aware of any nice landscaping templates available for it. I haven't found any on my own and I'm not entirely thrilled about the limited plant symbols and fill patterns from Microsoft. All in all though, it's really helped me take my designs, and thus my entire business, to a whole new level.

PSUscaper is on a distinguished road
I stopped using it about 8 years ago when I made the switch to autocad and then too Dynascape.

I basically made all my symbols when I was using it back then.

I was always happy with the product in general, but the idustry specific design of other programs are much nicer.

I also love Visio since it was the first program I learned to use. I began doing landscape designs on Pool Draw by CSS and love th rich colors that it produces. Since then, I have moved on to its succesor- pool templates.com and still love the program for its graphics and ease of use (but perhaps my experience biases me there.....)

I only wish they could provide automatic take-offs (which will probably never happen) and 3-Ds (due to happen this year)

My opinion only, don't waste your time with VISIO, go striaght to CAD.

Pooltemplates has 3D now (I think) but it's crap. The good 3D work he has shown for years as the 'coming soon' stuff he simply stole from my website, and cropped of my name.

He also took other peoples 3d work from turbosquid.

Get with CAD, spend the time learning, you won't regret it.

Sorry for the rant here, but I haven't heard the word pooltemplates in forever....brought back bad memories.

I checked out the 3D, there's nothing. He (at one time) tried to get me to develop it for him....I realized he was not wanting to pay with anything but promises, so I never got involved.

When you go to his site, the only good-looking graphic is the pool on the top right. That's my work. That's my sisters house. It's old work, so the onlyt place I have it on my site now is in video form (in case you all may think I am bullshitting)

http://www.djdelten.com/graphics/max...9_StreamHi.wmv

At 40 seconds into that video of mine is that pool (in full-motion video)

He simply raped like 12 renders off an old version of my site, plastered them on his and said COMING SOON!

Sorry, but I get mad at this stuff.

Well that's a bummer. I think pooltemplates sucks and caters to a very low-end market.
I basically just hand draw in Visio with my mouse and Visio's drawing tools. Same as I would on a vellum, but with less hassle.
