This must be the time to pull old clients out of the closet...

Not 'out of the closet' per se, just dust them off and revisit...

I had mentioned elsewhere about the client that tossed our color renderings years ago, and it appears we are a lock to do some new work for them this year, and they have no idea we were one of the bidders the first time around (I plan to spring this on them once the work is done - I found the old drawing )

Anyway, got a message today from a guy re: a $13K project - guy was a large PIA - I did 5 design variations (n/c) each time adding more stuff, per his instructions. We get to #5 and after reviewing, he leaves a message saying that it looks like I'm upping the price after each design just to up the price. Also with 9/11/01 and 'all that', I can't tackle this project this year.

I was so mad at this guy 18 months ago that I wrote a nasty letter...though I was smart enough not to send it.

Now that he's calling again, I very much want to tell him 'thanks but no thanks.'

What would you do?

Trust your first instincts. What does your gut tell to do?

Me-I'd walk away. Some of the best jobs are the ones I turned away.

Peace,

Rex

That's where I'm leaning, too. We have enough work to not have to scrounge, so no sense bending over backwards for this guy, when I know he will be nothing but trouble.

Thx,

Jeff

If you decide to go for it, add 25% .... should cover the extra you will have to put up with.
