How much aggregate and fines for synthetic lawn?

Hi. I'm installing artificial turf in a 105 sq ft area. My supply recommended 1 cubic yard base rock with 1 cubic yard fines on top, both compacted. By my calculations, this comes out to ~6" sub-base (3" rock + 3" fines). Does this sound excessive? Will compacting the base rock and fines reduce this by a substantial amount? Thanks for any advice.

I install putting greens. You just need to make sure the base is stable. I cant imagine needing more than 5" base at most and 2" fines on top. Make sure you compact the base, then add the fines and compact(plate compactor)
