Podcast Feedback

Please listen to the podcast presentation posted on the GTX homepage where I discuss common mistakes contractors make before, during and after the sales presentation that can adversely effect the outcome of a sale.

This is my second time working in this format and I am interested in all comments, discussions and feedback, as well as suggestions and ideas for future podcasts.

The presentation is only about 15 minutes long and has some unique solutions to errors we have all made.

Jody, I dont sell installs but do sell maintenance and still found your info helpful and relevant. Good stuff. Technically, I have no criticism or suggestions for the podcast.

Thanks Mac

Thanks for attaching the link and your comments. I am glad that you found them helpful, and I guess you are right, many of the ideas are just as applicable to maintenance as they are to design / build.

It's always good to be reminded of what works and what doesn't, especially if we're doing it every day. I loved the part about selling the idea, not the material. When I was learning to sell, the feature v. benefit thing was explained as "the customer'[s not buying a drill bit, they're buying a hole." You made me think of an old mentor! Nice podcast, Jody.

to clarify- I meant a former mentor. You don't make me think of old people, Jody.

Scroll up to Macs post and click on the word "player" or click on the the grounds trades xchange tree. This will bring you to the home page. From there you should be able to figure it out. Let me know what you think.

Jody,

I thought you did a good job.

I like when you said not to stuff the deposit check in your wallet upon signing the contract. I've done that a time or two when I was younger.

I liked it. I found a lot of the information useful.

The only problem I had is that there was some distortion in some places which made it hard to understand. I'm running a Macbook Pro with good quality external speakers so I have a pretty decent audio setup.
