I created a spreadsheet to track my estimates this year. I kept it as simple as I could with the estimate name, mat, lab, etc. and cost of the job. I then track whether the job is pending, accepted, rejected, or completed.
I created other worksheets using the data from the main sheet. I will use the data to track what percent of my estimates I close on and do some basic job costing.
My goal is to keep it simple - something I can keep up with - and give me some motivation and hard data to track my year with. I'm curious to see what my closing ratio ends up at.
Once again, this idea came from the Huston book.
