Out of curiosity how much does it cost you to custom paint the average pickup truck?

Paydaze- Do you have any more pics of the trucks? I bet everyone in town knows your trucks.
My truck is silver. As soon as i get another one i will most likely paint the hood, roof and tail gate green to get a 2 tone skeme going.

usually $1200 to $2000... thats not doing the door jams or anything. our killer is the color its a custom color. but we usually get the chassis redone any dings etc. so its not to bad.

2k for a custom paint job?
Do you have a lot unemployed graffitti artists out there or what?
Same job here would go for twice that, if you could find someone good.

I buy white cabs, then do the red on mine along with painting the frame rails red. It was unique for a while, but a few years ago a competitor started copying my theme.

Both trucks are painted and lettered the same, only 2 trucks running and people I run in to think I have a fleet. They're pretty recognizable and a good marketing tool.

The logical question to follow is "why do so many use white trucks (red is very common in my area as well)?".
I know one guy that uses red simply because it is easy to but slightly used trucks in this color, so he does not have to deal with paint jobs. However, he does not market to the masses as his business model is to do fewer more involved jobs rather than lots of jobs.

I don't know about anyone else but I switched to white a while back because, as a dealer pointed out, the truck manufacturers are constantly changing the color of the blues, reds, greys, greens etc., so it was safest to stay with white, new or used. And most any color logo or lettering shows up well on white.

I chose white because it easy to maintain. The trucks look clean from 10' or more even when they aren't. They also provide the easiest canvas to letter, any color will be appropriate and easily legible.
White is the most common fleet color, making white trucks the most common color stocked at a dealer. For those who buy off the lot, it is the color most available at the time of purchase. White is one of the easiest colors to match when it comes to repairs as well.
On edit: LOL John, I was typing while you were posting!

Green and boy are they hard to keep looking clean. Maybe someday I'll switch to a color that blends in with dust and dirt.

Pelican,
love that side dump! We've been tossing the idea around of getting one.

Is that a side dump or is there a body inside the body?
