Glenn,
I have to say that you are right on. I recently attended a Compass training session and it was the best thing I could ever have done. I was in a rut with the business and did not know how to find and fix the problems that I was having. I stumbled on Compass after first learning about it a couple of years back. I decided to go after talking to Rob and talking to a couple of guys that attended in the past. Before that I interviewed a number of business consultants and it always seemed that they wanted to give me easy answers by looking at my p&l. Although the p&l is important, it is only a report card of the operations and management of the company.
Rick puts things in a perspective that is easy to follow. It is also reassuring seeing that it has worked for him and so many others. With consultants, they come in and they are out the door with your money, whether there advice actually had merit does not matter.
Compass makes you take a hard look at your operations and teaches you where to find and how to correct your inefficiencies. Compass does teach you the importance of knowing your numbers, but it is also so much more. I could go on and on, but I won't.
I just recommend that anybody reading this thread that just is not getting the results that they should, call Compass. Talk to Rick and Rob and make the decision for yourself.
Just to be clear, I have no personal interest in Compass other then what they have helped me with. I just feel it is a very important tool you need to look at. Remember that we are all driven by results. Is everybody getting the results they should and deserve to have?
