Feedback on new ad
I would appreciate ay feedback on this ad you would be willing to give. It will go ina local gardening magazine which comes out ona monthly basis with a circulation of about 30,000. I have advertised in this magazine for about two years and I am also a columnist in their monthly turf section. It has provent o be a good busienss opportunity for me.

In addition, I will be passing out the following two sided door hanger door to door. I had both of thesee pieces professioanlly designed bya guy that I have used for few years. We do all of our communication online -- I have seen my return on the $ skyrocket since having him do my design work!
Sorry about the unlearess - had a hard time making is small enough to fit on this page -- my proof is 48mb.

Without having a lot of specific context, it's hard to say. By that I mean, I don't know how prominently you are featured in the articles you write (head shot, other pics, etc), or how much you are photographed in the rest of the magazine. If it's a lot, then the main photo there should work well, because they'll recognize you.
If your face isn't pasted all around the rest of the mag, I might consider using a different photo - the message that photo sends isn't crystal clear to me. The most prominent element, and the center of attention, is your vehicle. The next thing that catches my eye is the rims. Very sharp, but distracting me from your message.
Maybe you could use a shot where you're directing employees on the jobsite and everyone has smiles, or a pic of some uniformed employees planting some shrubs. Or you might even use the original photo here, but blow it up a bit and crop 20% of the bottom and right side, so that it only shows you from the knees up, and gives a better shot of the home in the background.
The information in the ad seems good, logo placement, etc. The photo would be the only adjustment I would make. Oh, maybe one other thing - and I'm going to be doing this in my own ads....I'd drop the 'free estimate' from the ad. This is just my opinion, but when my phone rings, nothing is more disappointing then to hear a voice on the other end saying "I'm calling to get a free estimate."

That is my concern witht he picture too.
I have a head shot along with my article and a short 20 word bio as part of the tagline. My face has been in the magazie every month for a couple years. I'm always surprised how much people recognize me eve in "civilian clothes" out on the street.
THe picture was my one concern as well. The goal is for this to be a branding type advertisement that runs every month. I want an image of professional, high-end and friendly. Another idea I had was that the vehicle will stand out in a paper full of stock flower and trees in the ads.
I think I will ask for a proof with oe of the pics of me working to compare.

I like everything about the ad but you and the truck. The truck is covering up what you’re selling. I think a nice lawn and landscape would suffice.
Other than that it looks great.
Good job.

I have to agree about ditching the truck. It looks like you are trying to sell truck accessories.

2 things I have to suggest...Since you are popular in the magazine why not note that on your flyer? Also on the flyer perhaps replace the phrase "high quality material" with "the right material" The other may sound like it might be "too expensive". My opinion...Other than that , looks great...Good Luck...

Here is another option without the truck or the handsome model.

Nope -- don't do sprinklers except repairs and winterizing for existing customers.
Plus... would be hard to get a pic of this yard with spriklers going right now or anytime soon
ALthough my graphics guy could probably superimpose soem pretty easy!!!

I like the fancy home, but how about you either cutting or giving the lawn treatment to it in the ad? Make some connection that you maintain that lot. Just my thoughts.....
