I have run across an estimating program that really merits a close look at. It is called Quick Estimator and so far I have been playing with it for a few days now and I think that it is the best program I have seen so far. As with all programs, the first while of data entry is going to take time so that you build a data base but once this is done it is very easy to make a quote. From this quote it can do job scheduling, job tracking and you can compare how your estimate compares to the actual job when done. I also like that you can group items together so that you can just enter a task and it will compute the materials and labour required for a task while allowing you to change individual items for the conditions of the job. It has a very short learning curve and is very intuitive. I think this software is worth a good long hard look.
