This is what we used for the job. It was cheaper than renting a lift.

Around $1800 installed and removed. The lights were around $600. The truck belongs to friend of my brother who owns a tree service. That boom will reach about 60' up. It just reaches the farthest corner of that house. We do other houses like this one right off the roof. This one is just a bit too steep.

This is what people get for the cost (package): install, service and take down, all materials are our property, which means we RENT the lights, only (stated in contract). Now, if somebody wants to go with us next year we offer to store materials at their place (save some room). X-mas decorations is cool business ($$$), but beware, there's lot more to it than just putting a few strings of light on a house. As far as suppliers, God bless Internet, but most of it you can find localy.
One more thing, you need good advertising (direct mail works good, ...) Mike

I was wondering if anyone else on this site did christmas lights. good to know I'm not alone. Its great revenue for us since we dont plow. I'll try to post some pics later, pretty proud of a couple places! this year the customers all stepped up their places a bit where they needed more electric if we installed, they didnt bulk when they were told to bring in an electritian. and we'll get paid to take them down. I dont offer storage because I work out of a 10x20 storage unit and its totally full.

Wow - that is something! There must have been tons of programming done to make that thing go.

Hope nobody in that house wanted to sleep.....

Miller Lite - they only showed about 10 seconds of it, and at the end was the text "Enjoy the Lites"

Time to start getting ready for the next holiday season! We are signing contracts and ordering our supplies. We use Village Lighting Co. They have some very good product.
