questn best MR16 bulb????

Hi folks....
I have some Low voltage lighting that uses a 35 watt MR16 bulb.
I was wondering if anyone knew the brightest (lumens) bulb out there that I could get to fit this application or are they all the same? I'd like to get the brightest possible.

Thanks for any help

tim

The low-volt lights that you are using these for - what wattage are they rated for? Don't want to have you sticking juice-sucking bulbs into a socket that can't handle it.

They are rated for 35 watt MR16 bulbs on a 12 volt lighting system.....
Is this what you meant

Yup.

If you've got an MR16 type bulb, 35 Watts, there really isn't much you can do to get one that's brighter than another. However, one thing you can do is is select an MR16 bulb that has a different spread. With a narrow spread you get a brighter beam at a given distance, as compared to a wide spread. This can allow you to either light something farther away, or cast a brighter light on an object that's closer (so long as it's smaller; you'll have a smaller beam to work with).

Hope that helps,

Jeff
