Acme transformer wattage?

I have a friend that wants to add some fixtures to an existing low voltage system but we can't figure how many watts the tranformers are rated for. They are not the typical transformers you get from LV lighting companies, they are hard-wired to separate timers. I know that most transformers come in increments of 300 watts and wonder if these could be the same. Anyone have experience with these?

See how many 12v commons it has. Usually they only have 1 and it is a 300 watt transformer. It's rare that you find people using more than the 300 watt model but if there is more than 1 12v common, I would say to figure 250 watts per common.

If they really want to use them, and you really want to get involved with it (which it sounds like a PITA already) you could just hook up the extra lights that you want to add to the the transformer and then check it with a voltage/amp meter to see if it will handle them.

Acme is one of the very few manufactures that make a transformer that can be used for pool and spa. You must check it though to make sure before using it for that purpose.
