Motion Sensor for Low Voltage Lighting

Anyone know if they make a motion detector for landscape lighting packages?

I'm not exactly sure how much voltage the sensor iuses iof any at all. That said, if the motion sensor was simply a switch, triggered off motion and not run from current, you should be able to wire on to aan LV system. We wire switches to them all the time so parts can be turned off without going to the transformer and doing so.

I might ask why one would want a motion sensor on an LV light however. Typically, you want a motion sensor so when something passes by a light comes on and if it happens to be trouble, that trouble gets scared and goes away. I have'nt seen an LV light that will light it up like a 120 volts light as of yet. Vista makes a 120 vlot line where you could use a motion sensor as well.

The motion detectors do use current, though I don't know how much. They send out microwaves and when something comes into the field it closes the switch. I'm going to guess that they won't work on low voltage.

What you can do is run line current out to where you want your sensor to be, then run the switched current back to your transformer to turn it on and off. The sensors are adjustable for field pattern and have a delay timer for turning off.
