Yeahground,

I'm just another member who is only a "moderator" to help out in policing the site - mostly from spammers. I don't want to speak for the people who actually run it, but ...

You are asserting that the homeowners section is opened "under the guise that the new members are joining a place in which they can get satisfaction for their desired 'beliefs' "

Did you read the sticky note?

With the incredible growth we've seen in our site over the last several months, I'm noticing some homeowners registering as new members.

While we welcome homeowners as members here, we want you to keep in mind that this site was not designed for people outside of the landscaping industry.

If you have questions about your landscape, whether it's about lawn seeding, a brick patio, retaining wall or anything else in the landscape, your questions should be asked in this forum.

When you do start a discussion here, please keep in mind that this is a forum for people in the landscaping industry, and not really designed for homeowners. Most of our members are business owners, looking to stay current with the latest trends and technologies, and their participation in all discussions, including ones put forth by homeowners, are strictly voluntary.

There is nothing about satisfaction in there. Usually the members are very forthcoming and helpful. We tend to give in the same spirit and respect of those enquiring. When we are asked for a bit of assistance we help. When we are asked to provide free services, we tend to feel like we are being used - and for good reason. When we are asked to give a critique, it should be by someone prepared to accept it.

You were given lots of good advice that you totally dismissed and then showed what you did as if you triumphed over the advice that you ignored. Now you want to be petty with everyone and ruin it for the homeowners who want a little help - not free services, but a little advice. That is not very nice behavior in my opinion.

Excellent question. Provide an excellent answer Yeahground, or we may need to part company.

Brandon, I've never seen someone lift content from a forum and post it to his blog as though he was asked the question. Interesting tactic. When I was a hardcore sales weasel we called that "malleable ethics"

Nothing against your and the forums in general chosen profession. Its just most of us homeowners cannot fathom spending so much just for some dirt moving rock moving and planting ( I know that sounded harsh to the pros but thats how some of us probably see it)

And of course you will always have those wealthy folk who dont care how much it costs .. or the cost is simply a formality.

But as more and more homeowners search the web to save money by doing it themselves..... this is what will come to pass.

Yeah, and as I drive around I can pick out where everyone with your opinion lives, and where everyone who knows the VALUE of experience and craftsmanship live.

It's great if you want to do it yourself, maybe you'll be really good at it, but chances are you won't. For those who don't want to, or have other things they do well and would rather do those things to pay for professionals to create living spaces and curb appeal for their biggest investment (their home), We pros are worth every dime we charge when we bring our a-game.

Not to mention the expenses we as small business incur in doing our job. I commonly pull up to a house to do a job with $100,000 worth of equipment, legal employees on whom I pay social security and insurance above and beyond their hourly rate, and decades of experience so that in 3 or 5 years all the stuff we do doesn't turn to junk.

you are an idiot!
