Any good contractors?

Hi,

My wife and I just buy a house in San Diego, and we are first time home owner, so we know little about home improvement, such as flooring -- hardwood floor and ceramic tile. Can anybody recommend some good contractors?

BTW: Can we save money by buying materials and hiring professionals both from HomeDepot?

This site is landscaping and hardscaping-things like patios, retaining walls, walkways.
If you are looking for a good landscaping company in your area, there may be some recommendations that can be made.
Let us know what sort of project you have in mind.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous. Stonehenge- do you ever send a knuckle-rap to the companies doing this, or is that just a waste of breath?

When I nod my head, you hit it.

Sorry Jeff, but I'm going with AGLA and PC on this one. There has to be some sort of screening process before you can post on this site (although I have no idea what that is)

Guys, while you probably don't see it, I spend way more time on this issue than anybody here does. Used to spend an hour every day. Every friggin' day.

I've already done a fair amount to keep things clean, and relative to other sites, it is. There's another thing I can do, moderating all new posts from new members, but then the burden is on me to do more work. I'll do it, but you'd better friggin' give me a pat on the back if I do.

Deal?

thanks, Site. Just got back from a hectic weekend trip, frazzled nerves, ready to jump on the first person to complain about something. Good thing Jody wasn't at my house when I got home.

I have half of a new solution worked out. Still working on the other half.

@ papercutter - I like the idea - no time to do it now, but I think a threat to undercut the search engine rankings they are aiming for with this tactic might be worthwhile.

lol - I think I was having one of those days where you tripped on your shoelaces, your dog bit you, the food you ate was rotten, the radio station you like wouldn't come in and you met all your customers that day with a big alfalfa (but didn't know it).

I think I'm better now.
