Help! Asap Please!!!!

i'm finishing up a large patio (concrete pavers). i have the compactor for tonight and i won't be able to complete the circular border around our tree in the center of the patio.

Sooooo, i'm going to need to tamp in the sand fot the rest of the patio tonight and deal with the circular border tomorrow, i'll probably hand tamp those pavers.

My question is this...how far should i stay away from the unfinished circle when doing the final tamp with the other pavers??? i was thinking 18" from where the edge of the last paver is(???)

I'd appreciate any fast responses as it is past 9:00 here in NY already. Thanks for the help!
Scott
