How do you think it would look with "drainage holes" in the seat wall? Are you confident you're using the proper subgrade material and achieved apporpriate compaction, especially near the foundation? If the patio collects water and sinks in a year you could have significant issues with your foundation, not to mention alot of wasted time effort, and money.
I would highly suggest hiring a professional contractor in your area to at least help with the project. There are also many landscape designers who are capable of drawing construction drawings and offering consultation for a relatively tiny investment.
edit: I'm sorry I misread...You already have a professional. They should know that 2% is the minimum slope for proper storm runoff of jard surfaces...so 3" for every 12' would be correct in many cases..
