biggrin Paver Trouble HELP !

Bought a home built in 1955. Has a large aggregate paver patio. The pavers measure 7 1/2" X 15". They are not all in the best postion but will take care of those in time. My dilema is that I pulled out 2 rows of pavers on one side so that I could put a flower garden near the fence. Now I have an edge of pavers with no edging restraints.
We have some fierce winters here in Indiana so I know the pavers will move or heave . I have read plenty on how to finish a paver edge with edging restraints but no information as to how to finish a "newly" made edge. The garden dirt buts right up to the pavers. What can I do to ensure the edge pavers remain in place ? I'm a little handy and need to do this myself.
Please give me some direction so I can make sure the edge of these pavers is secured.
Desperate to know ~
Gina

Fine Edge is an unknown quantity at this point
It seems to me that you would just install your edge restraint along your new edge.
Remove a little soil and compact as needed, install edge restraint, secure with spikes.
Backfill with the soil you removed.
