Plastic Waterproofing Question

What kind of plastic (brand name would help) could I use under my decorative rock along my house? I want something that will go slightly up along the house to stop water. Before water would just seep down. We will add soil and sloap it away from the house, but still want to use something to stop the water. Thank you for your time!!

If it's around plants, I wouldn't recommend plastic at all, because it does just what you want it to - prevents water from getting past it.

If you have an issue with grading and drainage (and a sump that runs all the time), address it first with soil and see if that doesn't solve the problem. Then for your plant beds, use a nice weed barrier fabric that'll allow water to your plants.
