Lights in pavers

GTX GURUS:
I have Pave Loc soldier pavers with lights and one is out. Is it relatively easy to put in a new bulb? I went to the Pave Loc website and there wasn't directions on how to do this, but I found out that they are made by In-Lite. Found another website that sells In-Lite - whole light fixture with an attached wire for $15.00. I was thinking it's just a bulb. And now that I'm thinking about it, I'd have to take the paver out to install...any tips on removing/replacing the paver and installing the bulb/light fixture?
(Nothin's easy, is it?).
Thanks!

If it's In-Lite, removing the paver won't help. And it's actually pretty easy with the right tool.

Usually an In-Lite installer will include a small hook with a crotchet(sp?)-type needle end on one end - this tool is for removing the face of the light to get at the bulb. With the face off, removing and replacing the bulb is child's play.

But without that tool, removing the face of the light is on the difficult side. Find something that is very thin and narrow but has some strength, and try to get into one side of the face of the light and pry the face off. 2 very thin screwdrivers on either side of the light could make quick work of it.

Thanks STONEHENGE, I'll give it a try...maybe use a couple of nail files. I'll hopefully just remove the bulb and find a replacement.

I do many installs using In-Lites, and yes, they do include the hook to pop off the plastic cover to replace the bulb. Remember, do the simple things first before going gangbusters and replacing the entire thing.

Nail files probably would work good....too bad I don't have any handy! Maybe I should check my make-up bag.....

Thanks Matt! I haven't tried it yet, but I will take it one step at a time. Do you know if I can get a bulb replacement at Ace Hardware?
(tip: You can get the shorter nail files to fit in smaller make-up bags!)

I'm sure the lightbulbs can be found at any hardware store, including Ace Hardware.

Next time I buy a nail file, I'll get the smaller ones

Any automotive parts store will have light bulbs that fit. It is the bulb that is used in truck marker lights.

You're kidding? I didn't know that either. "They" should make all light bulbs the same.....as well as batteries. No more mucking around with AA, AAA, DD, etc.

Actually now that LED lights are getting more popular you could probably find an LED replacement bulb that fits and in just about any colour that you could imagine.

Most of the incandescent low voltage light bulbs can be found in automotive parts stores.

My paver light is now working! I had to scrape some poly sand away between the light cap and the brick and then used my metal nail file to gently pry off the cap. I noticed a small amount of condensation under the light cap - I wiped out the area with a rag. Upon putting the new bulb in, it went on, then off...when I moved it a little, it would go on again. I noticed on the inside of the light cap it had two small plastic prongs which must "house" the bulb - which I aligned when I put the light cap back on.
Looking good!
This is an accomplishment for me - thanks to you at GTX.
