removing construction adhesive

Patio is done - everything is great - except the one stone that got some construction adhesive on top (how?!?) that dried up. I "mechanically" removed as much as possible - but there is some leftover and/or stain on top of the stone. I'd rather not replace the stone (glued down, top row of wall stone for stairs) - is there a way (chemical?) to remove the leftover adhesive from the stone safely?

Thanks

If you work like the dickens the moment you notice the adhesive is there (depending on the brand you're using), you can get almost all of it off with water and a stiff scrub brush - before it dries.

After it dries, if it's of a certain variety, you can actually pull it off. If it's others, I'm not sure how you'd do it short of replacing the block. Replacing a block isn't all that bad - hammer and chisel where it meets the block below, and expect some concrete to come off with the adhesive.

If it's a tumbled style of stone, then why not go for a bit more of the "mechanical method" ?
Those chips and scrapes are what you pay for in an antiqued product.

Guess I'll try to "chip" away at it (probably better than some strong acid or other chemical for me to work with . Just a hammer and chisel? Anything like sandpaper for stone?

Thanks

I suppose it would depend on the look of the block, but I would try using a dremel before I would use a hammer and chisel, more finite control and much more options for heads, IMO

I have had luck using a propane torch, putty knife and patience.
