Splitting Unilock Pisa2 Corner Block

I'm a newbie with Unilock wall blocks and would like to find out the trick to splitting the Pisa2 corner blocks and exposing the rough facing. I have only the basic tools 3lb hammer, 3" chisel and a 7" circular saw for which I purchased a diamond blade. I'm doing a project on weekends and in my free time so I don't want to rent any tools unless there is no other way out. I have about 5 corner unit to split. I have no problem splitting the standard Pisa2 wall blocks.

Hit him with the chisel and hammer where you want them split. Start on one side, hit a line across. Rotate the block 4 times, hitting a line along the plane where you want the block to split. Stard off by hitting block softly, scoring the block on all 4 sides. After that, increase the strength of your blows. If you only hit the block from one side, it has a tendency to crack on a angle or leave a uneven, rigid face or crack the block somewhere else. Being you have only 5 to do, you may end up doing 10 before you really get the technique down.

Just keep at it. The corners are tough! The main block will require a lot of effort. As for the ends, I always start on the flat sides, the sides with no taper. Tap quite a bit more lightly than you do to split the block and work your way around all four sides a little at a time. If you try to rush it, the end will not break off evenly and most likely result in a bulge.

Thanks for the advise. I did start to have a little better results when I tapped from 2 sides but still got uneven breakage. I'll tap from all 4 sides now and see how it goes.
