scratch coat
Doing a bluestone walk and stoop with a thinstone side. The stoop was poured about 2 weeks ago. I still need a scratch coat, right?

For the horizontal surface, no. Vertical, probably.

Ok, I knew not to worry about the horizontal surface, but I figured a scratch coat would be necessary for vertical.

My thoughts exactly. We never scratch coat the horiz. surfaces.
