Sienna stone

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the sienna stone retaining wall. I am starting a 100' wall and any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I do not have any experience with this type of wall.

If it is the homeowners do it yourself block I think it is, then its just meant for small walls, nothing structural.

Follow the same rules as any other wall except don't expect a couple of guys to be lifting these into place. After 4 or 5 of these at ground level they will be whupped for the day. I suggest contacting you stone supplier and see if they will lend or rent you their stone lifter and attach it to an appropriate machine to lift these blocks into place. You might even be able to hire thier truck and operator to crane into position. Once you have your base prepped and the first row in place these walls go up fast because of the size of the stone.

We have a set of clamps to set the stones with I was wondering about techniques to rockface the ends where the two walls meet.

maybe cut 2inches all the way around the end and break off, then use the chisel to roughen up the saw cuts.

Bruce has got that right but it is hard to get them to match the factory split. Also check and see if they have some corner units available. Been a while since I have used sienna but I seem to remember they had them.

rent a breaker if the block allows breaks. I might be spoiled, but we can rent a probst breker for $35 a day.
