Trak Mats

Any of you guys try these? I haven't priced them yet, but the concept behind these things (reducing impact of yard damage) is excellent. Welcome to SVE Portable Roadway Systems

any feedback is appreciated. would seem to beat the heck out of lugging around a bunch of plywood.....

I priced something like those. they were around 270.00 a sheet I think. If I bought at the show they were about 40.00 less. lighter than plywood plus you have finger holes to move them. I don't do too awful much where I can justify the cost over plywood, if every job or even 60% needed them I would probably get them.

I'm with 4seasons plywood is cheaper, I priced out a similar product and they were expensive and I needed a lot. I did however demo an ASV with 20" wide tracks for a big tree planting job late last season. Planted 26 trees all 3" cal. and up, drove the machine all over that lawn with no plywood or any other protection and it did virtually no damage and the ground was very wet. The sticker on it was like $48,000.00, but you could save at least $300 on plywood so it comes out about even right or is my math wrong again?

We have a construction supply store close by where they have slightly used pieces of plywood for $5. We might use plywood 2 times a year on projects so that is the way to go for us.

If I need plywood to protect something on a project it is charged for in the price to the client. (another item to make a little profit)

Ply wood is cheaper if your gona use mats. If you are on a job that needs something as heavy duty as an actual trac mat you might as well go matless and replace grass since the soil will be so compacted anyways. Mats are a pain when you turn they kick out etc...
