questn laying pavers with damp/wet stone dust?

How dry does the stone dust need to be when laying pavers? It's been raining off and on here for weeks with little relief in sight.
thanks,
Scott

You want them moist at compaction time but you don't want any squisshy stone dust when you are ready to lay. My patio had the same thing happen so I just waited for it to stop raining and did my final screeding. I had already compacted the base so the rainfall didn't hurt it one bit.
Have you compacted any of the stone dust yet?

Isn't it better to use dry sand for pavers?

I have a 27 x 23 patio which will take me some time to lay the pavers. So, is it ok to lay out a layer of stone dust over the whole patio and just scrape away lines to lay screeding poles to lay small sections at a time? what about when some portions have pavers already laid, but there is more to go...do i need to cover them to avoid any disturbance of the stone dust before compaction??

thanks for the help.
Scott
