sailor edge or cut at edge of cultured stone wall/edge?

Hi,

I am on my first paver patio install and I am not sure how to go about laying the pavers up to my small retaining wall (6in high) of vertical sandstone (for my edging and wall). It is of course quite uneven in spots as it is natural stone. My question is, should I lay a course of "sailor" pavers (which would not be a very uniform as an outside edge shape) into the sandstones and then use poly sand of the gaps or should try to cut as best I can to conform to the stones uneveness. I would then make a course of Soldier pavers on my edge restaints for the rest. I drew out a rough plan of what it looks like here.
And if I do go with the sailor course against the stones, should I start laying the pavers at the NE corner of the stone edge? the edge where the curved rock bed is is on the west side is not fixed so I can end anywhere it works out to be.

Thanks,

Colin

zullo-design is an unknown quantity at this point
cut an even gap as uniform as you can and just fill the gap with sand. Thats always the best way to go, the space always looks better because its not jagged. just make sure the corner of the previous paver is even with the corner of the next one.

thanks for your suggestion. Seems like a good way to go about it along the wall. Jagged corners might not be too pleasing to the eye unless one could exactly cut to the shape of the rocks which is unrealistic for me to try and achieve. Making angular straight cuts to the rocks is more achievable, I think, and will still look great.
Do you think I should leave a uniform grout gap of a 1/2 or so for sand? Or get as close as I can to the Sandstone? And should I use the polymeric sand for this gap?
Thanks
