Yeah, it's a scam. A friend at one of my suppliers just got hit with this. The credit cards will go through for the orders, then they will want you to run a CC and wire money to the shipping company. "The shipping company only deals in cash." After what seemed like a legit sale (no talk of shipping the paver's til later in the deal) they told him that they were having the paver's shipped to Hawaii and needed like $2,800 wired, the shipper would tell him where...
A couple days later he got an email about buying paver's and shipping them to a church in Africa...
Try to get as much info from them as you can (phone numbers, who and where to wire money to, etc.) to turn in to the authorities.

Why would someone in Florida buy pavers from a company in New York to be shipped to Africa????????????????????
Sheesh!

Orchard Ex - In this day and age, if the word "Africa" appears anywhere in the email, how did he fall for it?
I've received quite a few of these emails, too.

According to him, the first emails were short, well written (as in they used correct english/grammar) and shipping the paver's was never mentioned. The paver's were to be picked up from his yard for a local project right up until he let them know that they were in. That's when all the shady nonsense and shipping to Hawaii stuff started. When the second request to ship paver's to Africa came in he was trying to collect info for the police/CC company. Too bad the color isn't too popular or I'd try to get 'em for a deal. I think he'll be teased about this one for a while.

You must act quickly
This is mr. Kelvin. I am writing to express my most unhappiness about the shipping of my pavers to Africa. The stone did not arrive at the appointed destination as we agreed upon. mrs. Kelvin is quite upset too. As are my children melvin Kelvin and evelyn Kelvin (hey I tried - not much rhymes with Kelvin)
I am willing to provide you with a second opportunity to provide me with the selected product but you must now send me $5600 (bank check) for transport. When the shipment arrives I will pay you most handsomely for your efforts.
Thanking you in advance.
PS-I have some tropical swampland for sale too. It is very rare.
