Stone Decks

anyone ever hear of/install these things? i have had a client inquire about using one.

Stonedeck, Inc. - Homepage

not my cup of tea stylistically, but maybe an interesting add-on for business. just wondering about ease of install, drawbacks, etc.

nwhardscapes is on a distinguished road
we have installed a similar system using 18X18 or 24X24 hydrapressed slabs with AWS joist plates attached to the deck joists. Just google AWS joist plate system for info on their product.

We found the installation to be relatively simple although sometimes tedious to level with the shims they provide. Drawback is that the deck framing is your base and affects ease of install. So if you don't build the deck, work closely with the carpenter who does on final elevation and joist spacing.

Hard to tell what it really is. Is it stone? Looks a lot like a laminate product I recently saw at the carpet store. It was very cool looking stuff. Perhaps it is laminate on concrete board.
